How long?
A liturgy on Psalm 13
This post is part of an ongoing series where I’ve crafted liturgies from some of the psalms that have deeply resonated with me throughout the year. May these words bring you peace, healing, and a renewed sense of God’s presence in your life.
How long?
Lord, how long must I wait for you?
Have You forgotten me?
You seem hidden, distant from my sight,
And my heart is overwhelmed with sorrow.
I cry out, my soul is weary
Desperation clings to me,
As though death itself is whispering at my door.
I can hear the voices of my enemies rising,
Their triumphs echoing in the air,
As if to mock my pain,
To mock my trust in You.
Yet still, through the darkest night,
It is Your love I cling to,
A love that is my anchor,
My refuge in the storm.
I do not understand, but I trust.
And though my heart is heavy,
And my eyes have shed their tears,
I will sing
For You have been good to me,
A constant and faithful presence
In the midst of all my suffering.
I will sing, Lord. I will praise You,
For Your goodness is my hope,
And Your love, my strength.
If you’d like to support my work, you can fuel my next creative session with a refreshing glass of lemonade, which would be deeply appreciated. 🍋
As always, I’m grateful you’re here.

so good.
And if His goodness is our hope, and His love is our strength we will never run out of either one
