Beautiful imagery Terrel, and an even more beautiful reminder from Luke. Though our sins are many, they are forgiven. It makes me think of the hymn Jesus Paid it All. "My sin had left a crimson stain, he washed it white as snow"
I stumbled upon this video that offers a contrasting image with the same meaning. The pervasive image in the scriptures of Christ as the bridegroom is a powerful symbol of his love for us.
"He is the bridegroom who shed His blood to cover our sins."
A new bride would have to produce evidence of her virginity with blood on a cloth. Two witnesses stood outside the bridal chamber waiting for the evidence. If she was not a virgin, there would be no blood. The penalty was death by stoning.
We all sin and deserve that penalty. Christ covered our guilt with his own blood.
Wow this was a punch in the face this morning (in the best way)! This was my first time reading your posts and oh my word am I happy I did! It’s so funny because I’m reading through the book of Ezekiel and this morning I literally read Ch 8:8-10; how Ezekiel dug through the wall and saw all the creepy crawling things that made up the temple. Such powerful imagery! 💜
Haha I hate to be the reason for a punch in the morning but I'm glad you felt like it was a good one 😉 and I'll have to read Ezekiel back because I didn't realize there was a connection there too. Wow! Thank you so much for reading Dre! 🥰
Honestly, I was inspired by your piece If May Were a Mother 🥰 I wanted to write a poem about Jesus exposing the infested layers of our inner being as it's something I've gone through recently being hospitalized for psychosis, but I thought why not make it an extended metaphor and conversation instead. You're a brilliant writer by the way so I'm touched that you were moved by this 🙏
Wow no way this makes me so happy🥹🥹🥹 also I’m so sorry for your recent hospitalization. I know the Lord is with you ♥️ He hates the enemy’s torment over our lives and I know He longs to set you completely free forever from ever going through anything like that again. And thank you sooo much for your kind words🥹 planning on publishing If June was a Mother this week!
Thank you for saying that, and I've definitely felt his presence over the past few months of my recovery. We have a good God. And ooh so exciting going to go read it now!
Kathy, my first time touching your work and I am so awakened to how He uses those that are His to display His grace and redemption❤️🔥. Thank you so much. I am saving to experience often. BTW, I love that Jesus uses sugar too!
English tea please, two sugars,” says Jesus, settling Himself into an armchair. 😂💜
Amen Jane and thank you. These words come from a broken and contrite spirit attempting to worship it's creator. I'm touched that this was your takeaway. And haha yes in my head I love to imagine the ways Jesus could be humanized even with the smallest things! Thank you for stopping by 🥰
Wow. So powerful.
Thank you so much for your kind words 🥹
Wow, what bold yet beautiful imagery! This impacted me greatly.
Thank you Kayla, that means so much coming from you!
I can think of nothing but falling at his feet and bathing them with tears, or maybe an embrace that fills eternity. (see Luke 7:47)

"He looks expectantly at me but I’m not sure what we’re supposed to be talking about."
“And the wildflower field…why aren’t you lying there?”
Wow. No words, this was beautiful
I appreciate you being here 🙏

Today was a rough day, emotionally and spiritually, and this was like a warm blanket and a hand hold from Jesus. Thank you 🤍
I'm so touched that you were moved by this piece. Sending prayers to you Kylie. We all need the warmth of Christ to get us through the day ❤️
